Explorers of Darkness Glitch?

Ok, so here's what happened. I was in the Concealed Ruins Dungeon and in a Kecleon Market. I had a Weezing to fight and it used Explosion which got rid of one item and damage Kecleon. Aftre that, Kecleon traveled with me for the remainder of the floor. I couldn't attack it, my team couldn't attack it and neither could enemies. Kecleon wasn't even on my team. Can someone explain what just happened?
